Skin Friction Coefficient on a Flat Plate with a Turbulent Boundary Layer
Input

Definitions

$R _{x}$ Reynolds Number based on distance measured from virtual origin of the turbulent boundary layer
$M _{1}$ Mach number at edge of boundary layer
$C _{F}$ Mean skin friction coefficient
$C _{f}$ local skin friction coefficient

This App calculates the skin friction coefficients for a turbulent boundary layer on a smooth flat plate with zero pressure gradient. It covers Reynolds numbers from $10^{6}$ up to $10^{9}$ for Mach numbers up to 5.

Full details of the Derivation of the method and its application are given in ESDU 68020 in the Aerodynamics Series.
